The marathon started an hour earlier today and there were adjustments because of the warmth.

The A-phase was shortened and was all the way in the shade of the trees. Furthermore, because of the heavy footing, obstacle 4 was taken out and the times allowed were extended. The veterinarians did extra checks, there were lots of cooling stations and a ‘ horse wash ‘ in which the horses were sprayed with ice water. All the horses came to the finish line without any problems.

In the pair competition Raymon Letteboer was unbeateble. In four of the six obstacles, he was the fastest. The best six pairs were all Dutch people. In the ranking after dressage and the marathon is Martin Hölle thanks to his dressage performance still in the lead.

Koos de Ronde won the marathon at the four-in-hands. Mark Weusthof wanted to catch him up, but took too much risk in the Copernica obstacle in which he got stuck for a short while. If Koos de Ronde doesn’t make much mistakes tomorrow, he is heading for prolonging his Dutch title. But also on the international competition he still has a chance to win. The difference Chester Weber, who is still leading, is minimal.

Tomorrow the cones test will be exciting. Apart from the competition, there are spectacular shows and of course it is Ladies Day. The first class begins tomorrow at 9.00 pm. Around 17h the honouring of the Dutch champion will take place.
